Drew Millward Lecture

Drew Millward

It was really interesting to meet and talk to Drew Millward in today's lecture, the chronological approach he took to explaining his work was really interesting to see in terms of how he has developed as an illustrator. The critical awareness with which he spoke about his work was also refreshing, he seemed very confident in where he felt his work stood in the illustration sphere; the fact that he was still very eager to push his work further and continue to develop was also really nice to see.

Two of the main things that I really took on board with this lecture was his advice to "Go to the pub; get outside!" I feel like this face to face networking and talking about your work is something that is really beneficial to keep you analysing your work and measuring how successful it's being.

His other piece of advice was that somewhere between "working hard, good luck and not being a dick" lies success; I liked that.
